ST. PETERSBURG — Let the destruction begin.
Work is starting at BayWalk to tear down buildings and catwalks in order to make the retail complex more visible and inviting. The building along Second Avenue N that was the location of White House Black Market is coming down along with the box office in front of the Muvico theater. The area encompassing those two buildings has been fenced off and workers are dismantling some walkways.
New owner Bill Edwards believes the changes will make people more likely to wander in to shop and eat. He bought the long-struggling retail complex in September for $5.2 million. Edwards and other representatives of the Edwards Group are in talks with retailers and restaurants from around the country as well as Tampa Bay to put together a mix of new tenants. He plans to ...
