Tampa Bay area home prices fell by 0.5 percent in October, according to a Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller home price index of 20 cities released Tuesday. Bay area prices are down 6.1 percent from October 2010.
Property values in the 20 cities fell 1.2 percent from September to October, a 3.4 percent drop from October 2010.
The Case-Shiller index is based on a three-month average, which means the October data included transactions in August and September. In November, the median price of single-family homes in the Tampa Bay area was $120,900, according to the Florida Realtors.
