Board games in weathered boxes, antique lamps, faded couches, chipped salt shakers, sponge refills for mops. Everything needed to go.
Most of those who meandered in for the garage sale at St. Petersburg's Globe Coffee Lounge on Monday morning weren't necessarily looking for valuables. Many simply wanted a sentimental piece of history.
"I spent every day of my summers here, starting back in '03," said Kaison Watson, 28. He was picking through books and other items at the Globe with his girlfriend, whom he met at the little coffee shop seven years ago.
"I spent so much time here," he said. "I'm just looking for anything that will always remind me of this place."
