SOUTH TAMPA — Land and Sea Market opened its fifth location this week, expanding gourmet meat and seafood options for South Tampa cooks.
"We make our own sausage, cut steaks to any size, freezer wrap at no charge. We're like the old family butcher market," said manager Rob Chandler, son-in-law of owner Dean Hampers, a longtime Tampa resident who owned the Tarot Pub in the 1970s. Chandler also operates the Carrollwood, New Tampa and Valrico stores.
The market occupies the former Shane's Rib Shack on Neptune Street off S Dale Mabry Highway, opposite Publix and a few blocks from Fresh Market.
"We do a lot of prepared items," Chandler said, naming 15 kinds of stuffed chicken breasts. "With cooking directions to make it as easy as possible." He calls a Greek seasoning blend of salt, pepper, oregano and garlic ...
